Wouter Kallemeijn
Dear Wouter,
I finally made it to write you. Sorry for the delay. I met you the very first time in 2015 when I was a scared Italian PhD student for the first time in NL. We had a meeting in a small room and you were already a great knowledgeable scientist, I thought…I should go back home! We never spoke back then but we met again in London when we both were postdocs at Imperial College. We talked a lot about NL, Dutch people, culture…I was always complaining, you were always laughing. I bet you were very surprised that I ended up marrying a Dutch guy and we moved to NL! Can you imagine, Wouter? When we came back to London last year, I was not able to meet you but I heard a lot about you from Sebastian and I know how sweet and caring you were with him during difficult times. You sent me an email that will forever stay in my heart. You were an amazing scientist, wonderful man and father. I have no words to explain how life is unfair. You are in my thoughts every single day and the only thing that makes me smile at night is the image of you holding Freya in your arms. I feel at peace knowing she is with you, an amazing human being, full of kindness and love. I hug you, Wouter and I hope we could meet again.
Rita
