Wouter Kallemeijn

I first met Wouter in Leiden, when I was doing my PhD and he was a postdoc. Later, our paths crossed again in London as postdocs. It was great to have a fellow Dutchman in the lab there. Wouter was such a kind, warm person and an excellent scientist. I always enjoyed hearing his critical perspective on papers or ideas, and seeing the beautiful photos he took on his way to work, during a morning coffee. After our paths separated again when I returned to the Netherlands after my postdoc in London, I always appreciated that, as scientists, we are lucky to have plenty of conferences where we could catch up. It always felt comfortingly familiar, as if we were colleagues again. Wouter, it was wonderful to know you as such a calm, helpful, and kind person. I will miss you.
